The Hangover proved to be a major success and one that made the cast very wealthy. That also includes Mike Tyson, who was in a dark place at the time and doesn’t exactly remember being in the first film. However, the role put him back on the map, and changed his career.

In 1988 Jimmy Jacobs died, leaving Tyson without the co-manager who had been with him from the beginning of his career. Into the vacuum in Tyson’s life created by the deaths of D’Amato and Jacobs came Don King, boxing’s most notorious promoter, and Tyson’s new wife, actress Robin Givens, whom he had married after a two-week courtship.

“My first impression was that I’ve never had a tattoo in my life, but I thought we are fighting in a week and when you get a tattoo you can’t fight because they scab up and it wouldn’t be healthy to do that,” he said.

Stu’s relationship with Alan has never been easy. They had met before the bachelor party for Doug in Las Vegas and Stu didn’t mind Alan for the most part, although he is the one who is most annoyed by Alan’s stupidity. Upon learning that Alan drugged their drinks, Stu is outraged and has nothing but insults and disdain for Alan, though he is still occasionally kind and friendly towards him. Due to what happened in Vegas, Stu does not want Alan at his wedding out of fear that he may drug him again, but reluctantly invites him after insistence from Doug and Phil. Despite his initial reluctance, he becomes glad that Alan came along, but is again furious when Alan confesses to spicing the marshmallows they had with muscle relaxers and ADHD medication the night before Stu’s wedding, although he intended to drug only Teddy, so the rest of them could enjoy the weekend without him. Stu forgives Alan when he realizes that their rescuing Teddy from Bangkok has impressed his fiancé Lauren’s father enough to accept both him and his marriage to Lauren, and is extremely grateful to Alan for having Mike Tyson perform a musical show for him as a wedding gift. In the third film, Alan has become rude to Stu such as over visiting his office to read his subscribed Highlights magazines, filling the puzzles inside the pages, and leaves while being noticed. Alan also continuously mocks Stu during the third film by roasting him and saying that he has “horse teeth”. In the end, they are still friends.

Tyson was arrested in July 1991 for the rape of 18-year-old Desiree Washington at the Canterbury Hotel in Indianapolis. Washington, who had previously been “crowned Miss Black Rhode Island”, was a contestant in the Miss Black America pageant, rehearsals for which were being held in the city. Tyson was charged with “one count of rape, two counts of criminal deviate conduct, and one count of criminal confinement—charges that carried a maximum sentence of 63 years.” Tyson’s rape trial at the Marion County superior court lasted from January 26 to February 10, 1992.

Two days before his wedding, bachelor Doug Billings travels to Las Vegas with his best friends Phil Wenneck, a sarcastic elementary school teacher, Stu Price, an apprehensive dentist, and Alan Garner, his odd future brother-in-law. Sid, the father of Doug’s fiancée Tracy, loans Doug his vintage Mercedes-Benz W111 to drive to Vegas. They book a suite at Caesars Palace and celebrate by sneaking onto the hotel rooftop and taking shots of Jägermeister.

On January 3, 2022, the IBF sent an invitation to Hrgović and Luis Ortiz to enter talks for a final title eliminator. Hrgović immediately accepted the offer, with his promoters stating: “Challenge accepted by Filip Hrgovic, days and counting for Luis Ortiz to accept”. Ortiz refused, citing inability to compete due to injury. The IBF then invited the next highest ranked heavyweight contender, Joseph Parker, to enter talks for a title eliminator bout. Parker refused to enter talks as well, due to recovering from injuries. On January 10, the same invitation was extended to Tony Yoka. Yoka accepted the offer on January 13. The fight was supposed to be a rematch of their 2016 Summer Olympics semi-final bout, which Yoka narrowly won on points. The IBF later ruled Yoka ineligible to enter an agreement with any opponent other than Martin Bakole, as the two had already signed contracts to face each other. On January 26, both Andy Ruiz Jr. and Murat Gassiev received invitations to enter into negotiations with Hrgović, which they refused five days later, citing lingering injuries as the reason for refusal. On February 7, it was revealed that the #13 ranked Chinese light heavyweight boxing division Zhilei Zhang had accepted the invitation to enter into negotiations with Hrgović.

The Mike Tyson tattoo has been the subject of fascination for media and commentators who have offered various interpretations and analyses of its meaning. Tyson’s tattoo has been featured in countless articles, interviews and discussions.
